Koniambo NickelThis a permanent full time role residentially based in Koné, New Caledonia.The position of Plant Director at Koniambo Nickel SAS is responsible for ensuring that the Metallurgical Plant operates in a safe, environmentally compliant manner delivering consistent and efficient production to budget.Reporting to the Vice President Operations of Koniambo Nickel, the key responsibilities of the role are - Provide leadership to manage the plant (NST/Refinery) safely in compliance with legal and regulatory provisions.Align short term and long term strategies to achieve targeted ramp up performance resulting in sustained production performance at 50kt Ni/yr. Develop, in consultation with Business Improvement and Asset management teams, improvement plans to improve reliability and performance by reducing downtime, reducing other costs and increasing and maintaining production. Execute the improvement plan to improve reliability and production.Develop and deliver a maintenance plan to sustainably maximize availability of plants.Provide detailed briefings/reports to Vice President Operations as required.Ensure that your team has an effective set of operating routines and systems such as shift start meeting/ handovers in place and these are used to drive consistent and predictable outcomes for the Metallurgical Plant.Develop an understanding of where/how the Plant sites fit in the site value chain and operating strategy. Communicate this to your Department so that Team Members have sufficient context to inform their decision making.Foster a learning and continuous improvement culture to improve all aspects of business performance, sustainability and business growth.Train and coach Plant Team members as necessary to improve performance and as necessary adopt new ways of working. Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary Qualifications - Degree qualified in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering. Further studies in Financial, business or commercial disciplines as an advantage. And Minimum 5 years in a leadership role of similar Ferro Nickel or Smelting Plants within a similar Mine to Port complex environment Other Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong relationship building skills for both internal and external stakeholders. Strong hands on leadership, coaching and mentoring skills Strategic thinker A systems/process approach to problem solving Confident and sound decision making skills Self-motivated, pro-active and resilient attitude. Sound commercial and financial acumen. French and English language skills (preferably bilingual) Experience and comfort working in a cross cultural environment
