Description: JOB DESCRIPTIONJob title: NCSIMUL Support EngineerReporting to: NCSIMUL Support Team LeaderLocation: FranceObjective:Working within the Metrology Production Software Business Unit (MPS BU) providing reactive and proactive support services for the NCSIMUL product to all Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (MI) regions. The role will be working closely with the NCSIMUL Support Team Leader to develop good working relationships with the Hexagon MI regions, support colleagues and other key stakeholders within the business.Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:Providing reactive support services such as second level support to the regions.Through provision of proactive services, help Hexagon MI regions improve the level of support provided to their end customers and be more efficient in their operation.Second Level Support: Accepting and resolving complex customer issues that are escalated by the regions.Investigating potential bug fix and enhancements from resellers and regions and, where applicable, raising appropriate requests on software development.Providing direct support of established resellers who require high levels of support.Pre-sales: Attendance at major exhibitions and events to assist in the delivery of demonstrations and pre-sales technical support.Generating pre-sale collateral that can assist the regions in their technical sales activities; thus, improving standards and avoiding duplication of effort.Training and documentation: Ensure that regional technical support teams are appropriately trained in new features and functionality introduced in new software releases.Generating support documentation that can be localised within the region to help with the support of their customers; thus, improving standards and avoiding duplication of effort.Creating template customer training courses and documentation that can be localised with the regions; Product adoption: Providing help and assistance to regions to adapt products that are not yet distributed within the region. This will require extended time within the region to provide training and give exposure to local team to best practices.Person specificationThe ideal candidate will come from a general engineering school, mainly in mechanics and industrial IT, with CAM knowledge and/or CNC Programming experience in an industrial environment.Experience and knowledge of CNC program simulation, metal cutting, computer development skills (Post Processor programming) would be a distinct advantage.This exciting role will also involve a certain level of global travel, with occasional extended stays away.
